Steven holds a BCom degree from Wits and a Post Graduate Diploma of Business Administration from Thames University, London. He started his business career at Interbrand, the main operating subsidiary of Brandcorp Limited, where he became a Director.

In 1999 Steven co-founded ATM Solutions and under his entrepreneurial leadership co-founded DrawCard in 2004 and formed EFTPOS in 2005.

Steven led this group of companies, first as the Kanderlane Group and then as the ATM Solutions Group, which merged with Jawmend Rossi (JMR) to form Transaction Capital in 2007. Steven is the Group Chief Executive Officer of Paycorp Holdings – the Payments Services division of Transaction Capital. In addition to his Paycorp Holdings responsibilities, Steven is an Executive Director of Transaction Capital.

Paycorp Holdings (formerly the ATM Solutions Group) won the KPMG Unlisted Company of the Year Award in 2003 and Steven is a previous recipient of the Investec Jewish Entrepreneur of the Year Award.

Steven is the Chairman of the Association of Payment System Operators (ASO), a member of the Young Presidents' Organisation (YPO) and a founder member of ATMIA Africa.
