Consumer Protection Act

The Consumer Protection Act, 68 of 2008 (CPA) came into operation on 1 April 2011. In order to give effect to and comply with the provisions of Section 14 of the CPA, EFTPOS is required to provide you with notice of the forthcoming date for the renewal of the Terminal Provision Agreement entered into between yourself and EFTPOS.

As such EFTPOS hereby gives notice that your Agreement will be expiring within a period of no less 40 days, but not more than 80 days from date of receipt of the initial SMS or email.

Kindly contact Customer Support on 0861 338 767 or email info@eftpos.co.za in order to renew your contract beyond the expiry date.

Should you fail to contact EFTPOS Customer Support and formally renew the Agreement, it will be automatically renewed on a month-to-month basis, subject to any material changes of which your Customer Support will advise.

NOTE: you have the right to cancel the Agreement upon the expiry of its fixed term, without penalty or charge, but subject to:
  • your remaining liable to EFTPOS for any amounts owed to EFTPOS  in terms of the agreement up to the date of cancellation, if any; and
  • EFTPOS  having the right to impose a reasonable cancellation penalty with respect to any goods supplied, services provided, or discounts granted, to the consumer in contemplation of the agreement enduring for its intended fixed term, if any; and
EFTPOS having the duty to credit you with any amount that remains your property as of the date of cancellation.
